Windows of Opportunity
A smart company always opens new windows of opportunity for the distributors. This keeps business fresh and exciting. It gives us all a reason to contact our downline teams that may be inactive, or to call that neighbor and family member again to update them on the newest product you have to offer them. Walk Away Income $$$
I'm writing this week's blog from Istanbul, Turkey while here visiting my son & his family. Most know that wherever my pro basketball player son plays, I get to visit for a week or two. So once a year, either me or both my husband & I get to visit unique places, & every time, we are very thankful for our Vemma business. Why? Because no matter where we are in the world (even on vacations), our business grows & the weekly checks consistently come in via direct deposit. This is what true walk away income opportunity is all about. On the other hand, my vocal teaching business sees no income whenever I leave. If I don't teach, I don't make any money. (Sound familiar?) This is completely opposite from your Vemma business model. And therein lies the magic to residual income (MLM). Like the movie "Field of Dreams" ... "If you build it, they will come!" "They"- in this case - are the weekly bonus checks. Once team members, like yourself, truly understand the power of residual income - of duplication - of this opportunity ... the more committed you'll be to building your business consistently - building long term. Does it happen fast? No. It takes time. But consistent enrolling of new members every week, & helping your team members enroll new members, will see consistent autoships & business building = $$$ for you! 5 Year Game Plan
Networkers are a funny group of peeps. Most get all excited for about six months,then if they aren't making those big checks, they bail, lose their vision and think something is wrong with the opportunity. This business has huge rewards, but it takes hard work & commitment to see it through. Just like anything else in this life, achieving success takes time. What's your 5 year game plan? Thoughts and words spoken out loud should be geared towards giving your all for 5 solid years. The results will be astounding. Staying positive & focused on achieving the goals is crucial. And that takes keeping plugged in with your upline teams. I say "teams" because there are lots of upline people cheering for you to succeed. There's nightly calls, support websites, training lines, opportunity messages, corporate monthly calls, weekly webinars, back office updates, magazines, gift cards, etc. It's amazing the amount of support you have at your fingertips. Back in the day (been in this too long) - support just wasn't there. Either you had the internal motivation to succeed or you didn't. No one held your hand or provided you anything more than a monthly feeble magazine. And yet, we saw big time success. With a new year around the corner, sit down & write new goals, a new Prospect 100 list (yes 100!), take daily brisk walks with headphones on your head playing motivation music, tune in & turn on the heat. With the Verve SHOT coming at convention, the sky is the limit! And with this horrid economy ... we all need something big to happen with Vemma!!!!!!!

Core Strength!
When I started my Vemma business, all I had was the fabulous Vemma core formula to share - no Verve. After using it for just a couple of days, I had miraculous results in many areas. I slept all night for the first time ever. I'm known for being up all night working because I've never been able to sleep. That all changed when starting on Vemma. I've slept every night since. That is major. My headaches that were constant, disappeared. I had clarity of mind & focus. I've suffered from bronchitis since junior high school with chronic bouts when the weather starts to cool down. Interestingly enough, I've not had bronchitis for over a year since being on Vemma. The most incredible success I've had was with my neuropathy. I'm a type 2 diabetic that struggled with foot & ankle challenges & was forced to wear stupid shoes, until Vemma. December Cheer!
I love first days of the month, especially when it falls on Monday. Just feels fresh & new. New energy. New goals. New outlook. New ideas. Love it. Today is December 1, 2008. It's Monday, & it's time to fire yourself & re-hire yourself to start fresh & new. Enroll new people. In fact, set a goal to sponsor ten new before New Years Day. That gives you 30 days to set the stage for your business to explode come 2009! Chunk that down so you know what you have to do weekly to achieve that. Don't procrastinate ... percolate! Start by writing a new Prospect 100 list. Then book three holiday Verve parties (Tastings). Don't prejudge the situation or over think it. Just start calling your Prospects & invite them to come to a holiday Verve party. Have them bring a favorite holiday treat to share (or white elephant gift) & come enjoy a quick (45 minute) Tasting presentation at your home. Keep it festive. Keep it fun. Find new people to enroll. Dove-tail by booking more holiday tastings with people who attend your party. Get momentum going for 2009 by bringing in new this month. New people will change your thinking & re-energize your business. Start today. Don't put it off. Decorate your house & put your dreams & goals into massive action! Have fun!!!

Ten in Motion!
Some Will. Some Won't. So What. NEXT! These types of phrases have been mantra's for Network Marketing trainers for decades. In essence this tells you that some people you talk to will see what you see with the business as a true opportunity of a lifetime. Some won't see your vision for one reason or another. So what...pretty much tells you to move on. That's where "next" comes into focus. A true business builder's philosophy is to always have ten in motion ... ten people somewhere in the Prospecting pipeline so that when one pops & says "yes ... sign me up!" ... super! ... now move to the next person. Plug them into the great system with conference calls, website, webinars, events, etc. & keep talking to people. Time to put another person into the Prospecting pipeline so that you always have ten in motion. It's a numbers game & you are always sifting & sorting through your Prospects - never prejudging - recognizing some will ... some won't ... so what ... next! Say out loud everyday ... "the next one's better!" Keeps the blood pumping. Keeps your energy on target & keeps your business fresh & new. Have fun!

Self Motivation
I have found over the 30 year span of my Network Marketing involvement that there are very few individuals who are truly "self motivated." Most people I've seen get involved with this business start out so pumped up & excited --- start immediately talking to everyone they know, hop on the weekly calls & really think big; big goals - big dreams. However, after only a few months involved - a few negative responses ... a few "life" challenges & stumbling blocks - these people lose that "new enthusiasm" & either quit, jump into the next "deal of the day" or "settle" for the little part time money they can pick up where they are trading time for money & lose sight of their ultimate goal...to build a business where they can live the life of their dreams! And that saddens me. I think that I have always wanted big time success for these individuals - maybe more than they have wanted it themselves. We coach our team. We call. We email, fax, text, IM, organize a blitz, contests, meetings, etc. But when someone gets out of the motivation mindset, not much can be done...or is there? Yes there is. If you know someone who lacks that inner self motivation, first...get them to take a Verve, then plug them in. Sound familiar? I talk "plugging in" a great deal. And I will continue to do so until our entire team "gets it." All of us - no matter how self motivated we are - have to stay connected & plugged in ... involved so that our batteries are continually being charged! The best motivation is a deadline. That's why we blitz our business. We give ourselves a dead line - from this date to that to sponsor ten new. And when you enroll just ONE new person, guess what? You get re-motivated all over again. Your new person has that same energy you had in the very beginning. And, it's contagious. Just talking to them will get your business building energy & focus back on track! So what is the cure for lack of motivation? Two things. 1) Stay plugged in & 2) Enroll new people into your business ... personally. Call them everyday & catch their enthusiasm & run with it. Quit talking to your down, inactive peeps. They will drag you down. Get new &, again... STAY PLUGGED IN! xo

It's Thursday!
When I first got involved with Vemma, a little over a year ago, I set a goal for myself that I actually achieved. That goal was to enroll three (3) new members into Vemma by the close of volume for the week on Thursday night. The product has no competition & is very smart, so I felt (& feel) that there was a place for everyone in the company. Most I enrolled just love the product & consistently "use" the product as members, never really build the business, but totally enjoy the benefits of this amazing formula. A few have enrolled others as members under them. And a couple have rolled up their sleeves & have started to build their own teams. Like I said, I feel there is a place for everyone. Setting that little goal of enrolling three by Thursday night has built me a consistent business of autoships, sprinkled with a couple of part timers & business builders. It's been awesome! I suggest that each of you do the same thing. As they say..."a deadline is the best motivator" ... so set that Thursday night deadline for yourself. You see, it's been my experience over the past 30+ years in MLM, that people are pretty much procrastiners. They don't have to punch a time clock - or answer to anyone - so they put off building the business. They may start out all gung ho, but soon dwindle out & wonder why they aren't making any money. Just set that little goal to enroll three by Thursday & pretty soon you'll have a thriving, consistent business that will get you excited! New people bring new energy to your business. You can have a bad day - bad week - & suddenly you enroll a new person & ZAP...you are all pumped again. So...I repeat...enroll three new by Thursday every week & you will love the results! xo

There's a Huge Difference!
Wow...I ran out of Verve due to unexpected family members popping in drinking me dry & I've been dragging for two solid days. There's a huge difference in how I felt, how much I accomplished, how early I got going in the morning, how sharp & focused I was all day, etc. Huge difference. People need to be on this product big time. No question. So, I ran to Target & picked up an energy drink that was no sugar & still dragged all day. I don't know about you, but my body craves the great combination of vitamins, minerals, mangosteen & taurine. There's a huge difference in ours vs "theirs". When you get that...you will get up - get going - enroll new people every week & see your biz explode! It's the passion that will carry you to the top. It's your excitement about the product that gives you core "bullet-proof" strength & commitment to see your biz goals through to the ultimate end...SUCCESS! There's a huge difference with this company in comparison with all other companies. Solid billion dollar backing. Sizzle product that hands down beats the competition, yet catches the biggest wave in the country right now. Successful people making money proves that if they can do it - you can do it. WHY TEN NEW?
Like anything worthwhile achieving in this life, it's all about keeping focused on your baseline goals, sharpening your vision & working consistently everyday to achieve them. No matter what you are trying to achieve, very few reach their goals because they just give up somewhere along the way. As I'm directing a huge production with 200 in the cast & crew called Lights on Broadway 2008 right now, fabulous script & songs, etc., there were a number of people who dropped out once rehearsals started getting a little more demanding. That surprised me, & once the production opened last weekend, those same individuals came to me after the performance & said, "I wish I hadn't dropped out...maybe next time." Hmmmm. With my sons who play college & professional basketball, so few achieve their level because they aren't willing to do what it takes to achieve success. Everything takes effort. Consistent daily effort that chunks goals down into daily activity that get you where you want to be. You start out in this business pumped big time to talk to everyone, enroll people & really see your business thrive & succeed. Then somewhere along the road to achieving your business building dreams, someone cancels their autoship (for who knows what reason), drops out, disappoints you with very little in performance, or decides not to do the business. It happens. That's life. That's why so few achieve that "success" point by age 65. The statistics are staggering. Something like 2% of the population at retirement are living comfortably. Yikes! So...stay focused. Re-write your goals. Enroll new people every week. FIRE YOURSELF EVERY MONDAY MORNING & start new - with that same energy you had when you first enrolled into the business. Meet with your people & strategize. If you have duds on your team. Get a new team! If what you are doing in the biz isn't working...do something new & different. Plug into what's happening - then make it happen for yourself. Right company...solid as a rock. Right product...awesome consumable, in demand. Right pay plan...people are making major bucks! Collecting Autoships!
Everyone you come in contact with should be on Vemma, Verve or both. I know I couldn't go the day without both products. I take Verve at least once - most of the time twice a day, and Vemma once. It keeps the inflammation in my ankles down to normal size. If I miss, or run out of product, I suffer dearly. It's a no-brainer in my book. And with everyone needing the product, it's just a matter of sorting through your contacts & putting them into categories. Most are wholesale members who love the product & stay on autoship. If they happen to cancel their autoship, simply place a call into them & ask why they canceled. You'll usually get an answer that can be rectified & with your help, put back on autoship. You are basically collecting autoships. You goal should be to place 100 people on autoship. From those 100 you'll find a few part time business builders who bring a few people into the business. And with 100 people on autoship you'll definitely find a handful of business builders who roll up their sleeves, team up with you, plug into the events, calls & activities, and make you a fortune in the business. But, again, in a binary pay plan, your energy is focused on collecting autoships. Focus & consistently enroll new members every weeks. I made it a point in the beginning to always enroll three new a week by Thursday. And, yes, I too have had autoships cancel. But even when they cancel, they seem to come back because they love the product. So, don't get discouraged, get focused & collect more autoships. From them you will find your gold mines. Collect!

PRESENTING THE OPPORTUNITY
On our monthly Team Burgess call this morning, I spoke briefly about doing powerful presentations. Presentations are the backbone to your business building. Whether you choose to meet face to face with a Prospect, or invite them to a tasting or meeting, the format is always the same. The more money you want to make in the business, the more presentations you'll need to do. Keep them brief, fast moving & fun. And make sure to cover five points - 1)why you are doing the business, 2)the strength of the company, 3)intro the product, 4)tell them how to make money, & 5)call them to action - creating urgency. Utilize the tools with every presentation. If you are meeting face to face, let them listen to a hotline message by calling (678) 298-4595 right there at the meeting. And utilize 3-way call validation with everyone. Sell the opportunity with every presentation touching on the core "Prosperity Principles" of Network Marketing. These principles include, but are not limited to - Unlimited Income, Work from Home, Choose People to Work with, Small Investment to Start Business, Ongoing Residual Income, Personal Growth & Recognition, & Helping Others Succeed. Understand that the most important part of the presentation is YOU ... Your Why. Tell them why you are involved. Speak from the heart & listen to their responses. They will tell you how to customize the presentation just for them. Have fun!

A Sense of Urgency!!!
So important to business building is creating that important "sense of urgency". It's the - do it now - grab your spot thing that creates momentum with your business. That's why it's important to really buckle down and BLITZ your biz every few months & to sponsor in spurts. You have to go crazy for a six week period of time enrolling anyone & everyone that "fogs a mirror!" It's a numbers game & you are literally gathering autoships. When you enroll ten people into your business, the numbers will show 9 "using" the product 2 sort of slowly building the biz & 1 will be key for you as a leader. So do the math. Sponsor 100 people so that your numbers anchor your business with 80 users on autoship & 10 building the business. With an energy drink that gives you vitamins, minerals & mangosteen ... what's there to think about. Everyone needs it. But you have to create urgency. Start with yourself. Start your business fresh & new every Monday morning. Pump yourself up. Fire yourself Sunday evening & rehire yourself Monday morning. Plug into the calls & work like a madman to bring in new people. Talking to the same negative people day after day will drag you down & you won't see success. Find new. Tell them to not miss the boat! Tell them to "taste this ... grab your spot ... evaluate later!" Never prejudge who will actually be key for you. Just enroll away & work with those who work. And...create a sense of urgency!!!

BE CONSISTENT
Like anything else in life - schooling, dieting, crafting, playing pro basketball, etc. - one must be consistent with their efforts to work towards their goals of completing the project. Being consistent is key to success. My son, for example, consistently works out, following a very strict diet & workout program designed by his trainer, everyday to keep himself in optimum shape for his pro basketball career. He shoots 1000 free throws a day for the muscle memory development & consistency with shooting under pressure. I watched that consistency & dedication to his profession, even through the injury times when he was told his career would be over due to back challenges & major ankle & feet problems. He just knew what he wanted & never lost sight of his goals. He sometimes doubted himself & felt that self pity that all of us feel at times (why is this happening to me with the injuries), but had that burning desire to achieve & was consistent with his hard work & training every day without fail. His consistency has paid off big time for him. And your consistency will pay off for you if you stay on task & work at the business everyday. If you have two hours a day to work the business, buckle down & "clock in" & be laser focused on doing "income generating" activity during those two hours. Don't straighten your desk or pretend you are working. Actually do those tried & true basic things that get your financial business goals achieved. Talk to people & enroll them into your business. Be consistent with your calling everyday. Be consistent with your sampling everyday. Be consistent with your enrolling every week (at least 3 new!) & your business will explode. You consistency will set you free! Just don't let up until those dreams you have are dusted off, focused on & achieved! Consistency is key!!!

SAY LESS TO MORE PEOPLE!
I heard this phrase - "say less to more people" - years ago & it actually took me a few years to really understand the importance of this phrase. We all tend to talk too much & oversell. We also "overload" people with literature, cd's, website info, etc. We want everyone to get involved with us - right? But if what we are doing seems complicated or if someone we're pitching thinks they have to "sell"...they run for the hills. That's where "say less to more people" comes in. Follow up is done in layers or exposures. Little hints of what your doing creates intrigue. Saying "taste this - grab your spot - we'll evaluate later to see what money you are leaving on the table!" is just the ticket for building as long as you follow-up & see it through. Talking to LOTS of peeps & sampling tons of people will guarantee your success - again - as long as you see it through & follow up. Always have TEN IN MOTION & focus on what IS happening, not on what IS NOT happening. Talking to more people everyday - consistently - will bring the numbers game to play & you will win! People think if they are talking to one person that they are doing the biz. And if that one person doesn't catch the vision or do anything they get discouraged. But if you are talking to lots of people (at least ten...TEN IN MOTION) & one "pops" ... you are excited. Mental shifts happen as soon as you have someone interested & excited in the business. Your Why?
When your "why" is strong enough, the "how to's" just don't matter. What does that famous success phrase really mean? It means that when you have a clear, defined, written-down reason for getting involved with the Vemma business ... a big-time BURNING DESIRE ... you'll make things happen without having to know everything about the product, the nuts & bolts of the compensation plan, detailed instructions with holding Tasting, etc. Instinctively, your laser focus & passion will create momentum. You just have to KNOW down deep in your gut what it is that will drive you to the top ... get you up earlier in the morning ... get you picking up that telephone ... get you talking to anyone & everyone within the sound of your voice about your product & opportunity - attending & holding meetings - participating on the weekly calls, etc. Your passion will give you consistency. It will keep you pumped & focused. It will drive you to "keep on swimming" as Dori in "Finding Nemo" stated over & over. It's doing the basics over & over everyday that suddenly pops! Calls start coming in. Enrolling becomes easier. And the money starts to flow. Maybe it's your desire to live on your terms - travel the world - be your own boss - drive luxury cars - send your kids to the best colleges. Whatever it is ... drive it deep into your heart & say out loud everyday ... "I'm Vervin!" Your "why" is the important step to success. Write it down now. Be specific. Read it every time you want to quit. Let it drive you to the top!

ShAkE THE BUSHES!
People from coast to coast are looking for a way to make extra money now days. College kids call it "side hussle." Whether it's working an extra part time job, eBaying items around the house or hosting a garage sale on weekends, everyone is looking for a way to generate income. Look around you. Listen to conversations. Take an interest in what's going on in your community. Get involved with networking groups, school programs with your kids, & volunteering opportunities. Take a night class, or a couple of aerobic classes. Your goal is to shake the bushes & find new people to talk to, get to know & share your fabulous product & opportunity with. Shaking the bushes is easy if you make it a point to spend one full day a week pounding the pavement, starting conversations & gathering business cards & stepping out of your comfort zone a little. But...don't leave home without 3-4 cans of cold Verve, your business cards & your Prospecting Binder. (Prospect Sheet can be downloaded here at www.teamburgess.com). Add to the mix a stack of brightly colored Plaster Plan flyers, tape or stick pins & a strategy of where you are going to go to plaster. I like bulletin boards in apartment buildings, offices complexes, laundromat's, WalMarts, community centers, etc. Get creative & plaster. As you look at that bulletin board you've discovered, plaster it with 7 to 11 flyers. Someone will pull one down because they'll notice it more than once. It will catch their eye & they will call you. I've added a new flyer for you to run. This one offers a FREE can of Verve. Since everyone wants FREE, they'll call you. Have the number they call (written boldly on your flyer) be a voice mail. When calling them back, make sure you have a plan of action in place for them. Plug In to Win!
Area meetings are packed & the momentum is incredible ever since the release of Verve in November 2007. MOMENTUM!

The Baseball Diamond Analogy
The topic on every Network Marketing leader's lips is "follow-up!" Follow-up means to follow through. Follow through means to see it through. In basketball, a great player is one who when missing his shot, follows his shot - making sure it's rebounded & put back in to score the points. Let's leave my favorite sport of basketball & talk baseball for a minute. We're going to compare the process of enrolling new team members, following up until this is achieved, to a baseball diamond. We've used this analogy for years, but have recently fine tuned it so people truly understand the importance of follow-up. HOME PLATE is where we swing the bat (swing away). Where we make the initial contact with our Prospects, deliver our ONE MINUTE MESSAGE & offer a can of Verve. And we will need to take lots of swings (delivering lots of ONE MINUTE MESSAGES) & offer everyone we know, don't know, run into, etc. a can of Verve. The offering starts the process of enrolling. Let's now go to 1st BASE. This is where we do the actual sampling of the product & hand our Prospect a CD, making sure (crucial!) to get their information - name, address, phone, email. Don't ever hand out a can of Verve without getting your Prospects information &/or business card. (You can't follow-up without it!) 2nd BASE is where we may stay with a Prospect for awhile - & that's OK. This is where we share the bigger picture with exposing them to our tools - letting the tools tell the story of our opportunity. Tools include a 3-way calls to our upline, weekly conference calls, your myverve.com website, a Wednesday webinar, a local in-home "Tasting" or a Face-to-Face appointment. And you may need to use one of these tools only & your Prospect signs right up. But, most of the time you need to use every tool in the tool box to get your Prospect enrolled. And again...that's OK! 3rd BASE is where you enroll your Prospect into your business with a Business Package. Hold on...you're not finished. It's time to SCORE - to finish up by running to home base. What's next, you ask? This is where your newly enrolled member starts swinging & duplicating what you have been doing - & duplication is the key to big money! With your help getting them into action, your new person will see success quickly. Support Has Never Been This Good
With over 30 years under our MLM belt, we've never seen support so cutting edge & savvy than it is here with Vemma & Verve. Some may complain of too many tools. I don't complain. I celebrate it, but frustrate when people don't use or rejoice in the tools available to them. Just having the president of an MLM company actually know what makes it work & what the field needs to be successful is in itself ground breaking. Having him do a monthly live corporate update hands-on call is most likely unappreciated, except by those of us who have never had that. Former companies we have worked with heard from corporate rarely, unless scripted. To have name branding at the forefront of what he does is exciting with magazines, famous television doctors, race cars, pro athletic teams, etc. is beyond belief. As inferior products take the forefront selling hype & money, we're the real deal. We have support & substance behind what we are doing. Using even a couple of the tools makes our job easy. We find people - hand them a can of Verve - hand them our favorite CD (Matt's new one is great!) - plug them into a follow-up system & slam dunk them into the business! And the follow-up system can be a 3-way call to the upline --- plugging them into the Tuesday or Thursday call --- having them listen to a hotline message --- having them watch a video clip or sending them a video clip from www.vervevideo.com! The follow-up is all about exposures to seeing what is happening here at Vemma & Verve. The tools & support are unmatched. Team that up with the product being off the charts fabulous & the company being solid as a rock --- what's not to love & share with everyone you know? Blasting the business should be your mantra. F O R M ... ASK & LISTEN!
There's an old MLM phrase that is initialed - F O R M. It stands for Family, Occupation, Recreation & Message. You use F O R M when talking to people; to determine where to deliver your message of opportunity. When you enroll into this fabulous business, your "business building radar" is activated as you use this F O R M to ask questions. Examples - (F) "Tell me about your family...any children?" (O) "Do you like your current job?" (R) "What do you do for fun?" People usually have a couple of common concerns that fall into these categories. They don't like their jobs or boss, wish they had more time with their family, need more money to enjoy life, or would love to have more free time to travel or golf, or whatever activity is their hot button. When asking a question, it's important to ask another question about the answer. For example - "I wish I had more time with my kids" - ask..."what would you do with your kids if you had more time?" Then LISTEN to what they are saying. They will tell you how to customize your opportunity just for them. You see, team...everyone needs our product. And most everyone is swallowing something out there to make them feel better. Whether it's handfuls of pills, drinking jungle juices, or energy drinks --- we have what they not only NEED but WANT. That's not a question. It's how to determine their NEED for this OPPORTUNITY. You ask the questions. You listen to their answer. You ask another question about the question. You listen. Then you deliver your message and lead with the opportunity. Example - "I have found a way to free up my time, make extra money & feel awesome!" Just ASK, LISTEN, ASK, LISTEN...talk opportunity. The Important Area Meeting
Holding an area meeting is the only way you can create area momentum for your business. The meeting is the most effective way to share the dream and build the team. Call it a "Verve Tasting" - a "PBR" (Private Business Reception) - a "Home Meeting" - or a "Business Briefing" - whatever the name, it is where people gather once a week, bring a guest (physically pick them up and driving with them to the meeting), hear the testimonials and share their story from the front of the room. It really doesn't matter how large or small the weekly meeting is in the beginning. When you gather your team together, something simply "magical" happens. It's called - synergy! And this synergy creates excitement about the business. And, you will definitely start small. It may be you & one other person that you have enrolled to start things out - in your home or apartment. However, the next week both of you must bring one guest & then you will have four. The next week all four of you bring just one guest & you will have eight. (Get the picture?) Team - I started right where each of you are starting - from my home. I had only one guest in front of me. I, however, shared my excitement & story...& I grew businesses to 6 figure monthly incomes! You can do this too. Meetings have always worked, & will continue to work with network marketing. It's a people-to-people business. In this high tech world, networking is all about high-touch. People like the sorority/fraterity "friendshippy" feel meetings create. Guests come, in many cases, as a favor to the person who invited them, or just to feel a part of what is going on. And it is the only place to create real team spirit & area momentum! Know this... you do meetings for two main purposes - 1) to share the "dream" with the existing team, & 2) to share the "dream" with new people. This "existing team" concept is very important - your ANCHOR. Some of your team members may be doing very little in the business, but after attending a couple of small meetings alone - hearing the stories shared - having the dream painted again for them in front of the room - possibly sharing their product success story with others in attendance - they may suddenly catch fire & really step up and build a huge business for you - just because they attended a weekly meeting! Just make sure to be CONSISTENT with those weekly meetings. Having a monthly meeting or a "sometime" meeting doesn't cut it. Nothing will happen in your area because you are not creating momentum for your area to plug into. Momentum is magnetic! People will want to know what you are doing! The don't want to miss out. Momentum is only created with a consistent ... same time, same place ... meeting that your team can count on. Your team needs to know that if they go out & talk to new people today (in person or on the phones) that they have a place to bring those new Prospects to for validation of the opportunity. (I find Tuesday night works best - but you can choose.) Just do them & watch your business explode! Personal Note - Even if you are the one conducting the area weekly meeting, make sure that you bring a new guest every week too! Set the example & your team will follow your lead. Begin with the End in Mind
My friends know that I'm a big Steven Covey fan, especially with his best seller, "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People". One of his key seven habits is to begin with the end in mind. That means to stay focussed on your outcome - knowing what it is you want from anything worthwhile in life. With building your Vemma and Verve business, that is to sponsor new people onto your team and help them anchor their teams with enrolling team members. Building strong. And with our fabulous product (two delivery systems - energized or regular Vemma), double-blind clinical studies, solid foundation of a parent billion dollar company, we just all need to put blinders on and build our teams. Our "end" should be "walk away" residual income. Many of us work at other "jobs" where if we don't work - we make zip money. Example - I teach private vocal lessons from my home/studio. I love teaching and will always do it. It's why I went to college, majoring in music education and vocal performance. However, if I don't teach my great 20+ students a week at $40 a 1/2 hour lesson, guess what? I make no money. Tomorrow morning I leave for Puerto Rico to watch my pro basketball player son, Chris, play in the finals. I'll be gone for couple of weeks. I lose about $2,000.00 in teaching money because I'm not here to teach those great students, however...my Vemma check will continue to grow! That's the "magic" of Network Marketing. You build it to walk away from it. To be truly RETIRED in comfort with a lifestyle of a rock star. So, when retailing that product...retail for a reason. Reason? To enroll them into the business and see who they know that you can enroll and anchor their team. Begin with the end in mind and you will enjoy the lifestyle of freedom of time and money!

Get Involved
In listening to Ann Howard, our first team Platinum, on tonight's Thursday Business Presentation call, I couldn't help but smile. I do that whenever I talk to Ann. She is so excited about "live"! She loves people. She loves Vemma and Verve and what the products have done for her, and she shares that personal excitement about the products with everyone within three feet (the ole' three foot rule!) Ann's biggest secret to her fast success with Vemma is that she gets involved in everything she can. If she's not singing or playing the piano in her church choir - she's doing something with her local jug band, meeting the ladies of Red Hat for monthly lunch, attending a sorority meeting, attending bible class, and tonight she talked about her new computer class. And she doesn't just "sneak in" unnoticed. Ann is sitting on the front row sharing her myvemma.com/annsbiz website with the class so that the teacher will shine it up on the board for all to see, clicks to demonstrate setting up a website and up pops Ann's picture...there again, opening yet another door for Ann to talk about her Vemma and Verve with all in attendance. Ann's involved. She's living life to its fullest and sharing from her heart her deep love of the products and business. And her sincerity is building her a huge Vemma and Verve business. Yes, I'm smiling tonight after hearing Ann's latest weekly update of success. In fact, I called Ann on Tuesday to touch base and she said, "I can't talk now - I'm too busy signing new people up. Got 5 new ones this week!" That's cool Ann. You are the best. You are involved and making a difference in people's lives all around you. You are leaving your mark, girlfriend. "Nothing can stop me...I'm on fire!" "I'm having so much fun doing this!" "My team is awesome!" "The next one is even better!" "I can't wait to tell you all about it!" "I'm cookin!" Here are just a handful of phrases that you need to internalize & say out loud every day. They empower you & change your outlook & income. I used to call this in business building - BUSINESS ENERGY. Before you can effectively talk to people & attract them to your business, you have to change your energy - your paradigm (as Steven Covey states in "Seven Steps of Highly Successful People") If you aren't getting results...look in the mirror. Be the kind of person that you would want to hang around with. Be like who you most admire. Emulate happiness. In fact, someone great once told me that not only is "success is a choice", but "you choose to be happy." It's amazing how thoughts & words can create or destroy your lifestyle. Be the person you are supposed to be. Be an awesome person! Positive, Energized, Enthusiastic Excitement will bring you more money than you can ever spend. But more importantly...it will attract to you great things & great people. It's all about you & your attitude. (Attitude determines Altitude!) Look in the mirror. Love what you see. The Fortune is in the Follow-Up!
The fortune is in the follow-up with building your Vemma & Verve business, and enrolling new members. This crucial part of the "enrolling" process is always where distributors fail to see it through to the end. Once you have made the initial contact with a person & delivered your One Minute Message (listen to Approaching Anyone), the enrolling "process" begins with follow up, and continues with follow-up until the result of enrolling them into your business is achieved. This crucial follow-up process includes a number of "exposures" to your tools & opportunity. The exposures include: 1) Sending your Prospect a couple of www.vervevideo.com clips, 2) Sending your Prospect to your myvemma or myverve website, 3) Having your Prospect listen to a conference call either Tuesday or Thursday evening with you (3-way Call), 4) View a Ruth Elliott Wednesday Webinar with you, 5) Inviting them to attend a Verve Tasting or meeting in your area with you, etc. All of these tools are merely "exposures" that move your Prospect closer & closer to making that exciting & important decision to getting involved with you & being a part of your team! And they may not need all of those exposures. They may get involved after just tasting our fabulous product! Just know that if you are excited with your follow-up, your personal energy will ignite them into taking immediate action! Your job is to simply guide your Prospect through these exposures, making sure to always ask - with every exposure- to get involved with you immediately! Simply say - "grab your spot...this is hot!...we can always reevaluate later to see if you want to make some money with us." Important - when they say "yes" - help them get enrolled. The Big Secret!
I'm constantly bombarded (and irritated) by all of the email I receive from network marketers who claim they have the secret to building a networking business without doing the basics that have for decades worked. The claims they make are usually tied to purchasing their tapes, books, programs, etc. Unfortunately, many people purchase these things and not only lose their money, but fail to see success. Just like everything in life that is worthwhile in achieving...there are no shortcuts to success. Examples - If you want to graduate from college, you have to take the required classes to finish school. If you want to lose weight, you have to do the basics of eating less and moving more. If you want to be a great athlete, you have to pay the price. Nothing comes without calculated, planned effort, focus, determination and hard work (yes, work). With Vemma you simply follow the path led by those achieving success. Start here ... First, grab a legal pad of paper and divide it down the middle. On the left side start writing down names of everyone who needs Vemma or Verve. Who is sick, suffers from something, lacks energy, has aches and pains or wants to feel good? We all have sick friends. Start there. Listen to conversations around you. Lots of complaints about having no energy, etc. Keep your Vemma radar up when around other people. On the right side write down all of the names of people you'd love to have in your business. Use your Memory Jogger or the yellow pages to do this, and make sure you are energized with your Verve and have taken a brisk walk around the neighborhood to start this process. (Rocky music helps to get those brain cells working!) BE CONSISTENT EVERYDAY!!! Consistent daily activity will make you rich! Do the basics. Use the system and tools and be consistent. Important ... it's not who you know. It's who they can lead you to. So talk to everyone and invite them to take a L@@K at this MONUMENTAL OPPORTUNITY. Vemma gives you everything to succeed. Don't let your fears and insecurities stop you from success. It's a Numbers Game!
There's a word I keep on my computer screen. It's an important word for those of us who are passionate about building our Vemma business. It's ... "NEXT". This word should be what we say out loud all of the time, especially after we've talked to quite a few people about our powerful & exciting opportunity, & just haven't found that right person who "gets it." We are SEARCHING & SORTING in this business. Searching for someone to partner up with, who has our excitement, our focus, our energy to work this business with. We're searching for someone who does what it takes to make the business happen. They are on the weekly calls. They have started writing their Prospect 100 list. They are meeting face to face with people every week. They are "pivoting" people to you with 3-way calls to validate the business. And they are consistently sponsoring new every week. They "get it." They know that if they work hard with focus & determination that the end result is that magic "walk away residual income", & nothing is going to stop them from achieving those big bonus checks & lifestyle! They are pumped. So...where are these people? Trust me. I say that every morning. But, understanding that it's a "numbers game" & saying out loud with gusto..."NEXT!" keeps me moving the in right direction - onward & upward. Is it always easy? No. I think I want success for people more than they want it for themselves. And that is more sad than frustrating. But, as you keep searching & sorting through everyone (literally everyone) you know, they are there, & the joy of finding someone that "gets it" far out weighs the discouragement that comes along the way. So...keep searching & the more you search --- 1) deliver your one minute message to, 2) meet with face to face, 3) invite to take a look at your website, 4) invite to hop onto a call with you, 5) invite to come to your weekly Verve Tasting, 6) invite to partner up with you to blast the area... you will find people who "get it!"

Fun, Frantic Focus!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ken and I attended a hot, fast-paced, fun (young) Verve Tasting in LA Tuesday night and couldn't believe the energy (and youth) in that room. It was packed with 20-25 year old people, many college students at UCLA, all frantically having fun & laser focussed on building their Verve business! It was incredible. Ken and I were double (or triple) their age, but caught the vision. They were having fun. They were laser focussed on building what they called their "Side Hussle!" They said something very true in this day and age...everyone is doing something on the side to make extra money, whether it's eBay, garage sales, Craig's Listing junk around the house (even valuables) - all due to the mess the economy is in. Being young - they "get it!" They know that they want more from life than working 9-5pm. They know that there are three trends that Verve is capturing in a big way, & they are determined to capture their share ... 1) Energy Drinks!, 2) Liquid Nutrition (Wellness), 3) Home-based Business ... all trends that can make them rich! That's why they started a weekly (consistent) Tuesday Tastings. They started with a couple of college buddies and had them bring ONE guest to the next Tasting. From 3 it turned to 6 the following week, then those 6 brought one guest & it turned to 12, etc. Now their meetings are jam-packed! Young excited people talking TRENDS & OPPORTUNITY in a very fun, frantic focussed way that is MAGNETIC!!! Team...duplicate this energy & activity.
