The Baseball Diamond Analogy
The topic on every Network Marketing leader's lips is "follow-up!" Follow-up means to follow through. Follow through means to see it through. In basketball, a great player is one who when missing his shot, follows his shot - making sure it's rebounded & put back in to score the points. Let's leave my favorite sport of basketball & talk baseball for a minute. We're going to compare the process of enrolling new team members, following up until this is achieved, to a baseball diamond. We've used this analogy for years, but have recently fine tuned it so people truly understand the importance of follow-up. HOME PLATE is where we swing the bat (swing away). Where we make the initial contact with our Prospects, deliver our ONE MINUTE MESSAGE & offer a can of Verve. And we will need to take lots of swings (delivering lots of ONE MINUTE MESSAGES) & offer everyone we know, don't know, run into, etc. a can of Verve. The offering starts the process of enrolling. Let's now go to 1st BASE. This is where we do the actual sampling of the product & hand our Prospect a CD, making sure (crucial!) to get their information - name, address, phone, email. Don't ever hand out a can of Verve without getting your Prospects information &/or business card. (You can't follow-up without it!) 2nd BASE is where we may stay with a Prospect for awhile - & that's OK. This is where we share the bigger picture with exposing them to our tools - letting the tools tell the story of our opportunity. Tools include a 3-way calls to our upline, weekly conference calls, your myverve.com website, a Wednesday webinar, a local in-home "Tasting" or a Face-to-Face appointment. And you may need to use one of these tools only & your Prospect signs right up. But, most of the time you need to use every tool in the tool box to get your Prospect enrolled. And again...that's OK! 3rd BASE is where you enroll your Prospect into your business with a Business Package. Hold on...you're not finished. It's time to SCORE - to finish up by running to home base. What's next, you ask? This is where your newly enrolled member starts swinging & duplicating what you have been doing - & duplication is the key to big money! With your help getting them into action, your new person will see success quickly. Now, team, it's time for all of us to swing away more - to talk to more people - hand out more product - challenge ourselves to succeed in a big way. Play ball!
